The director of the supermarket on Kola Prospekt appealed to the duty part of the police department. She said that after the audit found a shortage of products almost five thousand rubles.
Police examined camera records and the merchandise record system. They detained the suspect, an unemployed Murmansk resident, who had not previously been in the field of view of the police. During interrogation, he admitted that in the afternoon he came to the store, chose a moment when there were no visitors and employees nearby, hid food under his clothes and left without payment.
The man was also involved in two other thefts. After the first crime, he twice came to the supermarket on Kola Prospekt, already being punished under an administrative article for petty theft. The first time he stole products for about 800 rubles, the second – for a thousand rubles. The total damage exceeded ten thousand rubles. He sold the stolen goods to passers-by and spent the money.
Criminal cases were opened under articles of theft and petty theft. The maximum penalty under the first article - up to two years in prison, and the second - up to a year. Now the suspect is under a subscription not to leave.
