Scotland Yard Detains Two Latvians at Royal Air Force Base

Scotland Yard has detained two Latvian nationals living in the UK after they illegally entered the territory of the RAF Molesworth air base. This was reported on the police website on October 8.

The incident occurred in Cambridgeshire. On the evening of October 7, a police patrol of the Ministry of Defense found an abandoned car near the perimeter of the object. Together with colleagues from Cambridgeshire, the security forces examined the territory and found a small breach in the fence.

On the night of October 8, two men aged 36 and 32 were found and detained inside the base. They were suspected of illegal entry into the protected object and causing material damage.

The counter-terrorism unit is investigating. Police said there were no indications of a connection to the events at Fairford Base last week.
