Media: drones attacked a merchant ship 14 miles off the coast of Bulgaria

The merchant ship Chelsea 3, flying the flag of Malta, was attacked by drones - as a result, two crew members were injured. According to maritime.bg, the attack was carried out by three drones in the exclusive economic zone about 14 miles off the coast of Bulgaria.

On Tuesday night, the crew of the 136-meter vessel gave a distress call. The ship stayed afloat. The wounded sailors and other crew members were evacuated by border guard boats and taken to Varna.

Earlier, the Bulgarian authorities requested support from NATO and the EU to continue the investigation of the UAV attack on merchant ships in the country’s exclusive economic zone.
