“Killer link” in Telegram: scammers came up with a way to permanently delete someone else’s account
Users of the popular messenger Telegram faced a new and extremely dangerous threat

Users of the popular messenger Telegram faced a new and extremely dangerous threat. Russian media reported about the mass distribution of so-called “killer links”. Switching to such a link can lead to irreversible consequences: the victim’s account is deleted automatically, and it is impossible to restore it.
Fraudsters actively exploit this vulnerability by sending malicious links through private messages or group chats. Under the guise of interesting news, pranks or important notifications, they lure users. You just need to click on the link, as the script is launched, which irrevocably erases the profile, all correspondence, contacts and media files.
Cyber security experts say this is one of the most insidious attacks of recent times. Unlike conventional hacking, this is not about data theft, but about the complete destruction of the digital identity. Telegram’s technical support in such cases is usually powerless.
MK in Pskov strongly recommends residents of the region to exercise maximum caution. Do not follow links from strangers, even if they seem harmless. If you receive a suspicious message from a friend, it is better to call him or write in another way - perhaps his account is already hacked and the mailing goes automatically. Your vigilance is the only defense against this digital threat.
