Valeria Chekalina, known as Lerchek, refused to undergo a polygraph test on the disappearance of jewelry worth 14.4 million rubles

Valeria Chekalina, known as Lerchek, refused to undergo a polygraph test on the disappearance of jewelry worth 14.4 million rubles. This TASS reported a source in law enforcement agencies. According to him, the inspection was proposed as part of pre-investigation activities.
The jewelry was seized during a search during the investigation of the criminal case of the blogger and her ex-husband. By the end of the preliminary investigation, some of the values disappeared. Lawyer Viktor Dugin previously stated that the investigator did not return Chekalina property taken at the beginning of the investigation.
In total, more than 20 sets of jewelry were seized during the search, including Cartier, Graff and Van Cleef & Arpels. Among the values were bracelets, earrings, necklaces, as well as Cartier, Rolex and Chopard watches. The amount of 14.4 million rubles relates to the missing part of the property.
The official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk reported that some of the seized valuables were not attached to the criminal case as evidence. According to preliminary data, the property was stored in violation of the established order, which led to its loss. The materials of the inspection became the basis for initiating a case on exceeding official powers under Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation
On October 9, the Investigative Committee asked the Basmanny Court of Moscow to send investigator Nikita Tulupov under house arrest. However, the prosecutor's office overturned the decision to initiate a criminal case against him. After that, the court refused to choose a preventive measure, since there was no subject for its consideration.
The source of TASS also said that the investigators who worked in the case of Chekalina, passed the polygraph. According to the interlocutor of the agency, the results of the inspection indicated their non-involvement in the disappearance of jewelry.
