Student of the capital University became a courier of fraudsters

In Minsk detained an 18-year-old student, whom the fraudsters used as a courier, reports the correspondent of the agency “Minsk-Novosti” with reference to the Telegram channel “Minsk Police”.

It turned out that the young man was lured into a criminal scheme by deception. First he got a call from a fake mail worker. He said a message had been sent to the guy. He believed, as he was waiting for a letter of admission to the hostel. To receive correspondence, the interlocutor asked the student to dictate an email address.

Soon in the messenger, the guy was notified that his personal data was seized by fraudsters and he will soon be contacted by KGB officers. After that, a video call allegedly from a law enforcement officer followed. The man said that the scammers issued a loan in the name of the student, and the money was transferred to criminal accounts. To avoid liability, the young man was asked to cooperate.

According to the instructions of the fraudsters, the victim met with the pensioner, took a package with 30 thousand. BYN went to a neighboring state, where he transferred the money to an electronic wallet. Upon returning to the Belarusian capital, the guy was detained by operatives.
