Two third-year students of the SSTU appeared before the court of the Kirov district of Saratov on charges of stealing clothes from the Gloria Jeans store in the Triumph Mall shopping center. As established by the investigation, the girls went to the crime due to lack of money.
According to the materials of the case, the friends prepared in advance for a trip to the outlet. They took a magnet with them to remove anti-theft sensors. In the store, the students chose two pairs of sports trousers, a bra and shorts, and then secluded themselves in the dressing room. There they removed protective devices from the selected items.
Distributing the prey in packages, the girls walked past the cash register and went outside without paying for the goods. One of them hid trousers and a bra, the second - a second pair of trousers and underwear. The store employees found the missing, who estimated the damage at 5.5 thousand rubles, and appealed to the police.
Soon, law enforcement officers identified the kidnappers. During the interrogation, the students admitted that they threw away the stolen items. They explained their actions by the difficult material situation. The damage to the girl’s shop was eventually compensated.
The court found the girls guilty under paragraph "a" of part 2 of article 158 of the criminal code (theft committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy). They are sentenced to 200 hours of compulsory work.
