The court in Tatarstan confiscated the car from a drunk driver

In Tatarstan, a court issued a verdict against a 30-year-old resident of the Aktanysh district, re-detained for drunk driving, Tatar-inform reports.

The incident occurred on April 30, 2026 on the M7 highway, traffic police inspectors stopped the Hyundai Creta crossover, which was driven by a drunk man. As it turned out during the proceedings, the defendant was already brought to criminal responsibility for such an offense in 2023. Then the court appointed him mandatory work.

This time, the court sentenced the offender to 1.5 years of probation. In addition to probation, the man was deprived of his driving license for three years. The key point of the verdict was the confiscation of the Hyundai Creta car in favor of the state. The supervisory authority stressed that the seizure of the car is a necessary measure to prevent relapses and ensure road safety.
