A resident of Zaporozhye Tokmak found hemp

In Tokmak, law enforcement officers revealed the fact of storage of a narcotic substance of plant origin.

In the course of operational activities, employees of the drug control unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Tokmaksky” found and seized in the garage of one of the local residents a package with a gray-green substance – he had a characteristic smell of cannabis.

According to the 38-year-old garage owner, he collected the plant in August 2026: it grew in a forest belt near his house. The man said that he kept the raw materials only for personal use and did not plan to sell them.

The seized material was transferred to the Expert and Forensic Center of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Zaporizhia region for research. On the basis of the expert opinion, the staff of the department will make a procedural decision within the framework of the current legislation of the Russian Federation.
