ATC: In Sochi detained a novice drug courier with 12 bundles of marijuana

In Sochi detained a 33-year-old local resident, who is suspected of trying to sell drugs. The man found 12 bundles of marijuana, and later the police found two more bookmarks equipped with them, told the press service of the police Department for the resort city.

Drug control officers in the Central District drew attention to the man while on patrol. According to police, his appearance indicated a possible state of intoxication. During a conversation with operatives, the citizen became nervous and admitted that he had banned substances, the department added.

The man was taken to the police station. In the presence of witnesses, he voluntarily laid out 12 packages on the table, added the guards. It is noted that later law enforcement officers found two more bookmarks, which the suspect managed to equip in the city. The examination showed that the seized substance is marijuana with a total weight of 14 grams.

According to police, the man admitted that he was engaged in the distribution of drugs for a short time. In relation to Sochi, a criminal case was opened under the article on attempted illegal sale of drugs on a large scale. He faces up to 15 years in prison.
