In Arkhangelsk, a man hung a one-year-old girl behind the edge of the balcony

In Arkhangelsk opened a criminal case after the incident with a one-year-old girl on the balcony. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Arkhangelsk region.

On October 8, about 19 hours, the police received information that in one of the houses of the Mayskaya Gorka district, a man hung a one-year-old girl behind the edge of the balcony. The nearest police unit, juvenile officers and other emergency services were sent to the place.

Together with rescuers, the police entered the apartment on the 5th floor, where they found a one-year-old girl. The baby was alone. The baby was examined by doctors - she did not need emergency help. It was decided to take the girl to a medical facility.

According to preliminary information, the mother of the child went to the store, leaving the baby at home alone. At this point, the woman’s former partner entered the apartment. The man suffers from a mental illness. By the time emergency services arrived, he had fled.

The staff of the juvenile affairs unit, together with the guardianship authorities, decided to place the girl and her brother born in 2015 in state institutions.

The identity of the man born in 1987 was established. He was hiding from the police, but was detained by criminal investigation officers and taken to a specialized psychiatric medical institution.

The Department of Inquiry of the Police Department “South” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Arkhangelsk initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Article 125 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Leaving in Danger”. An investigation is under way.
