In Beshenkovychy, a fisherman stole a boat and used it to steal someone else’s property

The Beshenkovich district department of the Investigative Committee established the circumstances of the hijacking of a small vessel and theft of property. This was reported in the UK, writes sb.by.

According to the investigation, a 23-year-old resident of Beshenkovich saw someone else’s motor boat and wanted to fish on it. Having no management skills, the attacker deceived a friend: he said that the vehicle he was allowed to take a friend, and asked to catch fish together.

“After a while, the young man mastered the control of a motor vessel and for almost a month he rode a boat on his own, always returning the stolen vehicle to the place so as not to be exposed. In addition, during fishing and walking, the man stole the property of other fishermen: tackle, chair and fiberglass boat. The total amount of damage amounted to about 6.2 thousand rubles, the IC said.

When the victims found missing things, they appealed to law enforcement agencies. During the operational-search activities, it was possible to identify the kidnapper. Investigators questioned the accused, victims and witnesses. At the place of residence of the defendant, stolen property was found and seized, and the boat was found in a reservoir.

The accused was previously prosecuted for theft, including a hunting rifle. According to the results of the investigation, the young man was charged under Part 1 and Part 2 of Art. 214 (small vessel theft committed repeatedly) and Part 2 of Art. 205 (theft committed repeatedly) of the Criminal Code. With the sanction of the prosecutor, a preventive measure in the form of detention was applied to him.
