In the Black sea sank cargo ship: two crew members died

The ship under the flag of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis sank in the Black Sea outside the territorial waters of Romania after a fire on board. According to the Interior Ministry, as a result of the incident, two crew members died, another 11 people were rescued. This is reported by TASS.

According to the rescue coordination center in Konstanz, the signal of the fire arrived at about 11:00 local time (coincides with Minsk). The ship carrying grain was about 30 nautical miles south of Sfynto Georghe, in Romania’s exclusive economic zone.

Several boats and a helicopter were sent to conduct a search and rescue operation. Earlier it was reported that 13 missing crew members and the injured captain.

Romanian media said that the ship left the Ukrainian port of Izmail and was heading to the Italian port of Ravenna. The exact causes of the fire and flooding are being investigated.
