In Ivanovo tried robbing pensioners gang

On October 26, 2026, the Leninsky District Court of Ivanovo convicted four local residents of an organized group.

Depending on the role of each, the gang members were found guilty of a series of frauds (part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code): the organizer - in 10 episodes, his accomplices - in 6, 3 and 1 episodes, respectively.

It was established that the attackers placed ads on the provision of services for the repair of plumbing, electricians and household appliances. Posing as skilled craftsmen, they went to clients, who became mostly elderly people. Attackers did not have the necessary skills, did not report the final cost of work in advance and drew up contracts in fact, deliberately inflating the amount. In some cases, services were not provided at all.

During the trial, two defendants pleaded guilty partially, two denied guilt. The court imposed a sentence of imprisonment of 2.5 to 4 years with serving in a general regime correctional colony. The cell phones of the convicts were confiscated into the state revenue.

Prior to the entry into force of the sentence, the preventive measure was changed to detention. Part of the stolen funds (damage in 9 out of 10 episodes) is compensated to the victims.
