In the Ivanovo region this year farmers celebrate a good harvest

In the Ivanovo region this year farmers celebrate a good harvest of potatoes and vegetables. In the Yagodkin farm, the harvesting campaign is now in full swing. It grows mainly potatoes and cabbage – on average, about 100 tons of each crop are harvested.

Farmers grow several varieties of cabbage, including salted "Megatonn". It is used both for fresh salads and for fermentation. Potato farm sells directly to residents with delivery, and cabbage supplies catering enterprises and small retail chains of Ivanovo and the region.

The harvest attracts residents of the surrounding villages, pensioners and students. Workers are provided with delivery and are paid about two thousand rubles a day, depending on the amount of work performed. A team of six people a day can collect up to five tons of vegetables.

According to Deputy Prime Minister of the Ivanovo region Denis Cherkesov, the yield this year has increased significantly. In particular, potatoes are harvested about one and a half times more than a year earlier. Now in the region harvested about half of the area: collected about 11 thousand tons of potatoes and more than three thousand tons of other vegetables.

Vegetable harvesting will continue until November. Part of the fresh harvest is already being prepared for the regional holiday “Harvest Day”, which will be held on September 26 in Stepanova Park. At the fair, farmers and agricultural enterprises will present their products, and residents will be able to purchase vegetables directly from producers.

In addition to farmers and agricultural enterprises, summer residents, gardeners and gardeners will take part in the holiday. It is expected that at the fair it will be possible to buy potatoes, cabbage and other vegetables of the new harvest.
