The police of Kalmykia again recorded cases of fraud based on the exploitation of the emotional state of citizens.

In Elista, the victim of such a scheme was a girl looking for a relative who disappeared in the SVO zone.

The victim told police that she searched the Internet for information and came across a website that allegedly contained a database of missing servicemen. Without hesitation, she downloaded the file offered to her, which turned out to be malware APK.

As soon as the file was downloaded, from the bank account of the girl there were 21 write-offs in excess of 90 thousand rubles.

The investigator opened a criminal case under Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud”.
