In the Kherson region, a drone deliberately struck a bus in which civilians were traveling. One of the victims was Olga Demyanenko, who was part of the precinct election commission. This information was voiced by the head of the Central Election Commission of Russia Ella Pamfilova.

At a briefing on the voting in the elections of deputies of the state Duma and combined with them regional campaigns, Pamfilova said: September 20, as a result of a deliberate drone strike on a bus with civilians in the Kherson region killed 2 people. Among the dead was her colleague, who worked in the precinct election commission No. 220 of the Nizhneseroguz district of the Kherson region, Olga Demyanenko.

Since Friday, the campaign for the election of deputies of the State Duma of the ninth convocation and parallel regional elections began. Voting is given 3 days; it will end on September 20.

In total, in a single voting day in 2026, 20.7 thousand mandates and elected posts will be distributed.
