In Krasnopillia, a man was fatally poisoned by mushrooms

A resident of Krasnopillia ate mushrooms and died of poisoning on the seventh day. This was announced by the official representative of the State Committee for Economic Development in the Mogilev Region Irina Rachkovskaya, writes sb.by.

A 39-year-old man died. He picked mushrooms in the forest and ate them during the day, and in the evening he felt a sharp deterioration in his condition: abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, general weakness. Called doctors took him to the central district hospital, and then transferred him to the Mogilev Clinical Hospital, but the man could not be saved — on the seventh day after eating mushrooms, he died.

The Department of the State Committee of Forensic Examinations for the Mogilev Region conducted a forensic medical examination to establish the exact cause of death.

— A forensic medical examination of the corpse was carried out, the medical documents provided were studied, including the data from the study of the National Anti-Doping Laboratory, where extremely dangerous peptides α-amanitine and β-amanitine were found in the biomaterial of the deceased, which are contained in pale and white toadstools, bordered gallery, varieties of lepiota (small umbrella mushrooms). The clinical picture, the results of clinical studies, the detected changes in internal organs, the circumstances of the incident allowed the expert to conclude that the man's death occurred as a result of acute oral poisoning, complicated by the development of multiple organ failure syndrome, "the State Committee for Epidemiology and Epidemiology said.

State medical forensic experts remind lovers of silent hunting that mushroom poisoning is very dangerous, and 80-90% of cases of eating pale toadstools end fatally. They also added that poisoning can be caused not by poisonous, but by edible mushrooms. You cannot cope with intoxication on your own with such poisoning, therefore, at the first signs of poisoning, you must immediately seek medical help.
