The fire occurred in a residential building on Gamarnik Street. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the fire occurred in an apartment on the fourth floor, where household items lit up on an area of 10 square meters. The fire was eliminated in 43 minutes.
The incident killed a woman and four children. Two more girls were saved thanks to the actions of a neighbor who helped them out through the balcony. The children were taken to hospital, where they are under the supervision of doctors.
After the fire, experts check and determine the causes of the fire. The Ministry of Emergency Situations noted that an autonomous smoke detector can warn about the danger at an early stage of a fire and give residents more time to evacuate.
