The fire in the warehouse where lumber was stored occurred in Rostov-on-Don. At the same time, there is a risk of fire spreading to nearby buildings, the press service of the EMERCOM of Russia reported.
The official message of the Ministry clarifies that the signal about the fire in the warehouse building was received by dispatchers at the address Tupolev street, 16A. Initial data indicate that timber was in the room.
Later, representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia provided updated information, according to which the area of open combustion in the warehouse intended for storing oils and polymeric materials reached eight thousand square meters.
The ministry also stressed that there is a real threat of the flames passing to neighboring infrastructure facilities.
To eliminate the fire, more than 60 emergency personnel and 23 units of specialized fire equipment were promptly sent to the scene.
