In Novgorod, the master received a year of imprisonment for the death of two workers

The Novgorod district court sentenced the organizer of forest preparation of the company “Ecowood Novgorod” D. A. Krasnov, through whose fault two people died from carbon monoxide poisoning, the press service of the courts of the region reported. He was sentenced to 1 year of imprisonment.

The court found that Krasnov neglected the instructions during the preparation of the next house. When installing a furnace in a household, he did not make a separate air supply for combustion. It should be noted that air supply is necessary in order to ensure its flow from the street, and not to take oxygen from the room itself. In addition, the organizer did not tell the leadership.

Despite the obvious danger to life, the master settled in the house of two workers. Because of the improper operation of the oven, men were poisoned to death by carbon monoxide. The court confirmed that it was Krasnov’s negligence that led to the tragedy.

As a mitigating circumstance, the court took into account the confession. The sentence has not yet entered into force and can be appealed.
