An earthquake of magnitude 6.4 recorded in Panama, 32 km south-west of the city of Son. This is stated in the preliminary report of the Institute of Earth Sciences at the University of Panama.

Tremors occurred at 02:20 MSK, which corresponds to 18:20 Monday local time. According to experts, the earthquake was at a depth of 5 km.

Earlier, on October 9, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center reported an earthquake of magnitude 7.6 in Panama. Its epicenter was located 213 km south-west of the capital of the country, and the hearth - at a depth of 12 km.

After the previous earthquake, separate damage to buildings and infrastructure was reported. At the same time, the victims were avoided. Information on the consequences of the new seismic event is not yet provided.
