In Safonov for theft of a faulty “VAZ” detained a local resident

In Safonovsk municipal district, police discovered the theft of a car. The police asked a 50-year-old local resident who lost a faulty car “VAZ-2114”, parked near her house. The owner estimated the damage at 40 000 rubles.

In the course of operational-search activities, which included interviewing witnesses and checking places of sale, detectives established the identity of the suspect. She was a 31-year-old villager. It turned out that she handed over someone else’s car to the scrap metal reception point, getting 10,500 rubles for it.

On this fact, the investigator opened a criminal case under part 2 of article 158 of the criminal code (“theft”), which provides for a punishment of up to 5 years in prison. In relation to the suspect, a preventive measure was chosen in the form of a subscription not to leave.
