In Togliatti detained a man suspected of robbery of food

In Togliatti, police detained a 27-year-old local resident who is suspected of open theft of products from the shopping pavilion. A criminal case was opened against the man.

According to police, the incident was reported by the seller of the store. He said that shortly before the appeal, an unknown person took the food and fled. Police officers interviewed employees of the outlet, studied the recordings from CCTV cameras and made an orientation on the suspect.

Soon, patrol officers noticed a man who fit the description, near one of the apartment buildings. Seeing the police, he tried to hide in the entrance, but he was detained and taken to the department.

According to police, the man was not previously convicted. He confessed to what he had done and said he threw away the stolen food on the way.

The case was initiated under part 1 of article 161 of the criminal code of the Russian Federation “Robbery”. The police continue to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
