In the Tuapse district, an early warning system for floods was threatened due to theft.
In the Altubinal farm, attackers stole two solar panels from an automated hydrological complex (AGC No. 142) on the Prish River. Now the equipment is rapidly losing efficiency: without panels, the battery is not replenished with energy and gradually discharges.
The complex operates autonomously – solar panels serve as the only power source for water level sensors and data transmission systems. As soon as the battery finally runs out, the station will stop sending indicators, and specialists will lose the ability to monitor the hydrological situation in real time.
The situation is particularly worrying due to the specifics of the area: Tuapse district is subject to floods almost throughout the year. The lack of operational data deprives experts of the ability to predict the rise of water and warn residents in time. At a critical moment, delays in alerting can have serious consequences in the event of flooding.
Law enforcement agencies have already begun investigating the incident. Anyone who has information that can help solve the crime, please inform the police, reports the Center for monitoring and forecasting of emergencies in the Krasnodar Territory.
