In Volgograd, a member of the organized crime group was convicted for 25 episodes of fraud

The defendant was found guilty of a series of fraudulent actions – a total of 25 cases of deception of citizens were recorded. The geography of crimes covers the Volgograd and Saratov regions, as well as the Krasnodar Territory.

According to the joint press service of the courts of the Volgograd region, the illegal activity continued for almost 6 years – from March 2018 to February 2024. The woman worked together with other members of the group and purposefully targeted mainly elderly people as victims. To look convincing, she used uniforms and fake IDs, imitating the status of an official employee.

The scheme of deception was built on the disguise of employees of utilities and emergency services. Under the pretext of checking the equipment, cleaning the ventilation, eliminating violations or installing additional devices, the attacker gained access to the victims' housing. As a result, 24 people were stolen money: the total damage exceeded 1 million rubles.

During the trial, the woman fully admitted guilt. The court, having examined the evidence collected, considered it sufficient to give a verdict.

The defendant was found guilty at once under several articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation: under Part 2 of Art. 210 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation in a criminal community), Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (24 episodes of fraud), as well as under Part 3 of Art. 30 and Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted fraud).

The court imposed a sentence of 5 years imprisonment with serving in a general regime colony, as well as an additional restriction of liberty for 1 year. The measure of restraint was executed immediately: the woman was taken into custody in the courtroom.

The verdict has not yet acquired legal force - the defense has the right to appeal it on appeal.
