In Volgograd, doctors prevented the amputation of the leg of a patient with atherosclerosis
Surgeons performed an atherectomy and restored blood flow.

In Volgograd Regional Clinical Hospital No. 1, doctors saved the leg of a patient with severe atherosclerosis. The man asked for help because of severe pain in the lower leg and foot - they disturbed even at night, at rest. The examination showed a serious violation of the blood supply to the left leg. Against the background of atherosclerotic artery damage and chronic diseases, there was a real threat of amputation.
Doctors conducted a minimally invasive atherectomy: through small punctures with the help of a special catheter removed atherosclerotic masses from the vessel, and then expanded its lumen with the use of drugs. The operation was performed without installing a stent and without open intervention - there were no metal structures or other implants left in the vessel. As a result, blood flow was restored, the patient retained mobility and was able to return to a full life.
