In the Volgograd region for extremism detained 55-year-old man
The FSB of Russia in the Volgograd region reported on the suppression of illegal activities of a resident of the region involved in financing and public justification of terrorist activities on the Internet.
According to the press service of the Ministry, the 55-year-old local resident between September 2022 and April 2024 carried out 19 financial transactions using his own bank card. The funds were used to support the activities of the organization, which is recognized as extremist and banned on the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as included in the unified federal list of terrorist organizations.
In addition to financial support, the man used a personal account on one of the video hosting sites to post publications. The posted text materials contained calls to participate in terrorist activities in the interests of the terrorist community.
In relation to the defendant, the investigation department of the Department initiated criminal cases under Part 1.1 of Article 205.1 and Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention against the suspect.
