The tragedy occurred on the morning of October 13 in one of the five-storey houses of Voronezh on the street Heroes of Siberia. A fire broke out in the apartment on the top floor.
As specified in the press service of the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the message about the smoke was received by the dispatcher at 10:58. Firefighters took only seven minutes to cope with the fire – already at 11:05 the fire was completely eliminated.
The fireplace was in an apartment on the fifth floor. The fire only damaged the furniture. The incident killed a 59-year-old woman.
Ten personnel and three special vehicles from three fire and rescue units were involved in extinguishing. Thanks to the rapid arrival of calculations, the fire did not spread beyond one apartment.
Now experts determine the cause of the fire.
