In Zaporozhye region recorded more than 2,200 fires since the beginning of the year

Since the beginning of the year, more than 2,200 fires have been registered in the Zaporozhye region, which is almost 45% less than in the same period last year. The fire killed 51 people, another 38 were injured.

The main cause of the fires was careless handling of fire and other sources of increased danger - this happened more than 1,800 cases. More than 300 fires are associated with violations in the operation of electrical equipment, another 8 with improper operation of furnace equipment.

With the arrival of cold weather, the risk of fires increases, so fire officers focus on prevention and compliance with safety measures. Special attention should be paid to the rules for the use of furnace, electrical and gas equipment, as well as generators: the latter are strictly forbidden to run in closed or partially enclosed spaces due to the threat of carbon monoxide accumulation.
