In Tver, police officers are investigating a case of remote fraud, the victim of which was a 71-year-old local resident.
In one of the social networks, a woman met a man. He introduced himself by a foreign name and said he lived in Paris. Their correspondence lasted several months. One day, a virtual groom told a pensioner that he needed to fly to Mali to his elderly mother. He needed money for that.
The woman agreed to help, but transfers abroad are only possible between relatives. Then her virtual friend asked to transfer funds to his friend from St. Petersburg. The pensioner transferred 10,000 rubles to a third-party account. When the pseudo-Parisian asked to send him money again, the victim suspected fraud and went to the police.
