A 26-year-old courier from Moscow became a defendant in a criminal case in the Vladimir region. The court found that in December 2025, the man conspired with telephone fraudsters. Unlike organizers who called pensioners, his job was to physically raise funds.
Using the legend about the need to transfer money to declare, the group cheated Vladimir pensioner almost 3 million rubles. The courier personally visited the victim twice. On the second trip, he was detained by law enforcement officers due to a signal from a taxi driver.
Despite the fact that the man acted only as an intermediary, the Leninsky District Court qualified his actions as complicity in the theft on a large scale. Mitigating circumstances were the admission of guilt and full reparation.
The sentence - 2 years and 6 months of imprisonment in a general regime colony - has not yet come into force.
