In the Kovrov district, law enforcement officers uncovered the production of mattresses, which, according to investigators, were produced with the illegal use of someone else’s trademark. In the criminal case are six local residents aged 32 to 46 years.
According to investigators, the illegal activity continued from September 2025. Production facilities and warehouses were located in Kovrov and Melekhov. For the manufacture of products, the designations of a well-known brand were used without the permission of the copyright holder.
According to the regional Investigative Committee, the organizers attracted employees, including former employees of the trademark owner. The finished products were promoted via the Internet. At the same time, some mattresses were produced under other names, which, according to investigators, allowed to hide the use of someone else's brand.
As part of the investigation, security forces conducted searches at more than ten addresses. More than 400 mattresses, production equipment and raw materials, as well as documentation and computer equipment were found there. In addition, seized more than 15 million rubles in cash.
The preliminary amount of damage to the right holder is estimated at least 30 million rubles.
A criminal case is being investigated under the article on the illegal use of someone else's trademark by an organized group. Four defendants have already been charged and preventive measures have been chosen. Investigations are continuing.
