Volgograd residents reminded how not to become a victim of fraud when paying taxes
Fraudsters become more active in the autumn, when Russians pay taxes. Attackers send messages in messengers on behalf of the Federal Tax Service: they allegedly need to check the accruals - for this they suggest clicking on the link.

The transition leads to a phishing site imitating a government service. The purpose of criminals is to gain access to the account on the state services. The scheme is discussed in detail in the materials of the rubric “We explain.rf” and the Cyberpolice of Russia.
How cheating works: Scammers deliberately create a sense of urgency. First, they send a message about the tax accrual, then offer to check the details on the link. After the transition, the user is asked to log in and enter the code from the notification – so the scammers simulate the “hacking” of the account. Next, the victim is offered to call the “tech support”: the operator of the fraudulent call center, which is trying to lure additional data or persuade to transfer money, is in touch. At the same time, messages can look convincing – they often indicate a specific amount of tax, date and period of accrual.
What is absolutely impossible to do: do not follow links from messages in messengers, even if they seem official.
Where it is safe to check accruals: in the personal account on the "State Services", on the official website of the Federal Tax Service or in the application of the department. There will be specified the basis of accrual, amount, payment period and details for payment.
If you have already clicked on a suspicious link: do not enter personal data and codes from SMS on the page, do not call the numbers posted on such a site.
