Volgograd man is suspected of beating a friend with a baseball bat

On October 11, a 46-year-old native of the Krasnoarmeysky district was admitted to the hospital with serious injuries. During the search activities, officers of the Criminal Investigation Department identified and detained a 40-year-old man with a criminal past as the alleged culprit of the incident.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Volgograd region, the cause of the incident was a personal dislike between two friends. During the argument, the accused inflicted injuries to the victim with a baseball bat. Sports equipment was seized by law enforcement officers during the inspection of the scene.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 111, Part 2, paragraph "h" of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which qualifies intentional infliction of serious harm to health. This article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment of up to ten years.
