Volgograd police detained an accomplice of scammers
In Volgograd detained a courier involved in telephone fraud against pensioners

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the region, police officers of Volgograd together with operatives of the regional criminal investigation department detained a 20-year-old resident of Tatarstan. According to the investigation, the young man acted as a courier: he took money from deceived citizens and transferred it to curators, leaving a small percentage.
The scheme of deception was standard: accomplices called the elderly and under the pretext of declaring funds persuaded to hand over the cash to the courier. The involvement of the detainee in the theft of 496 thousand rubles was established from a 90-year-old resident of Voroshilov district. Having received the money, the defendant went to Saratov and transferred the funds to the accounts of his accomplices - there he was detained by law enforcement officers.
On the fact of the crime, a criminal case was opened under Part 3 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Fraud”). The suspect was detained in accordance with Article 91 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation. Now the police are checking his possible involvement in other similar episodes in Volgograd.
The police urge citizens not to trust calls from strangers, not to transfer money to couriers and not to transfer funds to allegedly “safe” accounts.
