Voronezh survived the most massive drone attack: what is known by this hour

On the night of October 26, Voronezh and the region were subjected to a large-scale drone attack. A warning about the danger from the air was announced in the evening of October 25, and closer to the morning a warning about the missile threat was added.

Around 5:45, residents were woken up by loud explosions – glass rattled in houses, and the cotton itself sounded unusually long. Later, Governor Alexander Gusev explained: it worked air defense. In total, 113 drones were destroyed over the region and the Voronezh agglomeration, of which more than 70 were destroyed over the city itself.

According to the Ministry of Health, three people were killed, 39 were injured. Twelve victims remain in the hospital, three of them in intensive care. Another 12 are treated on an outpatient basis, 15 were provided on the spot. Among the injured three children, a five-year-old girl was hospitalized.

Mayor Sergei Petrin reported damage to several dozen high-rise buildings, the private sector and more than 250 cars.

The wreckage of drones fell on the passenger train Anapa – Moscow: five passengers were injured. Trains have been suspended, but three trains will leave later than scheduled. According to insider Ivan Karpov, Moscow Lokomotiv, returning from the match with Rostov, was also hit; the club clarified that no one was injured.

After the attack, businesses, a school stadium and residential buildings caught fire.

At the moment, kindergartens and colleges work as usual, VSU students were transferred to a distance. The Palace of Culture on 9 January Street is temporarily closed, creative classes are canceled. Novovoronezh NPP operates normally, the radiation background is normal.

The consequences are eliminated. The Federal Investigative Committee opened a case of a terrorist attack, the situation was commented on in the Kremlin. Assistance to the victims was offered by journalist Margarita Simonyan.
