Over the past day, the police received about 400 reports of phone calls scammers. Thanks to the efficiency of internal affairs officers and the vigilance of citizens, most crimes were prevented. This was reported in the interior Ministry, writes sb.by.

36 crimes committed using information and communication technologies were registered.

The department of the organization of processing fraudulent transactions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs initiated the blocking of nine phishing Internet resources - fake trading platforms, banks or services indistinguishable from the real ones. The possibility of payments to 43 foreign payment details used by the attackers was blocked. Expenditure transactions on 60 accounts were also suspended.

The operatives detained two couriers working in the interests of scammers. They seized about 160 thousand rubles.

According to the method of committing illegal acts, vishing on behalf of officials (telephone fraud) and theft using social networks are leading. Then there is buying goods online and trading on financial exchanges. Work to identify and combat fraudulent activities continues.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminds that offers of quick and easy earnings or purchase of goods at a significantly reduced price on the Internet are invariably associated with the risk of losing money. The golden rule when communicating with fraudsters on the phone is to stop the conversation and report to the police on the number 102.
