Delays in Sochi reached 12 hours

At Sochi airport, 21 flights are delayed - eight for departure and 13 for arrival. This is evidenced by the online scoreboard.

Among those detained for departure are planes to Tel Aviv, Yerevan, Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Astrakhan, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan and Samara. Waiting times range from less than an hour to six hours.

13 flights are delayed on arrival, including from Saransk, Mineral Waters, Ufa, Tyumen, Dubai, Samara and Nizhny Novgorod. Two more flights are expected from Perm, Moscow and Kazan. Delays are up to 12 hours.

Rosaviatsiya has repeatedly imposed temporary restrictions on the reception and release of aircraft in Sochi and other airports in southern Russia. The last time restrictions in Sochi were in effect from 00:30 to 01:27 MSK. For safety reasons, restrictions were also introduced at the airports of Krasnodar and Gelendzhik.
