Kazakhstan's chief transport prosecutor says six bars of gold have been confiscated

Kazakhstan's chief transport prosecutor's office said six bars of gold had been confiscated. The total weight of the precious metal is about three kilograms. The cost was estimated at more than 34 million rubles.
According to the agency, the woman purchased the bars in Kyrgyzstan. Then she brought the gold to Kazakhstan through the Korday road checkpoint. The metal was intended for further illegal transfer to China.
To bypass customs and border control, the woman hid bars under the insoles of shoes. However, during the inspection in the area of the International Center for Cross-Border Cooperation "Khorgos" gold was found and seized.
The woman was arrested. A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the smuggling. Other circumstances were not disclosed.
