Resident of Kovrov convicted of fatal accident on the highway M-12 in Petushinsky district

Petushinsky district court has issued a verdict in a criminal case on violation of traffic rules, which resulted in the death of a person. In the dock was a 30-year-old resident of the city of Kovrov.

He was found guilty of a crime under Part 3 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. It was established that on June 9, 2025, the man was driving a BMW X6 car, moving along the M-12 Vostok motorway from Moscow to Vladimir.

Despite the rainy weather and wet road surface, the driver chose a speed of about 110 km / h, which did not ensure safety. As a result, in the area of the 122nd km of the highway, he lost control of a foreign car, allowed the exit to the right lane and collided with a passing car Gazelle Next.

From the impact, commercial transport was carried to the side of the road, where it crashed into a metal fence and noise shield. The passenger "Gazelle" from his injuries immediately died.

Taking into account the position of the state prosecution, the court imposed a punishment of two years of forced labor with the withholding of part of wages into the state income. He is also banned from driving for two years.

The sentence has not entered into force.
