A resident of the Ulyanovsk region gave fraudsters 1.5 million rubles for a car from abroad
In the Ulyanovsk region 40-year-old man became a victim of fraud when trying to buy a car with delivery from abroad

In the Ulyanovsk region, a 40-year-old man became a victim of fraud when trying to buy a car with delivery from abroad. The buyer transferred 1 million 550 thousand rubles to the alleged sellers, but the car was never received. After receiving the money, unknown people stopped communicating.
The story began with an announcement about the sale of a foreign car, which the man found in one of the popular messengers. The offer interested a potential buyer, and he contacted a representative of the company, which promised to arrange the delivery of the vehicle from abroad.
During the correspondence, the parties discussed the terms of purchase of the car. The interlocutors introduced themselves as managers of the organization and convinced the Ulyanovsk resident that it is necessary to transfer money in advance to make a deal.
Payment was not limited to the cost of the car. The alleged sellers demanded additional transfers for customs clearance and transportation of the machine. All payments were made to these bank accounts.
Trusting the interlocutors, the man several transfers sent them 1 million 550 thousand rubles. However, after receiving the entire amount, the situation changed: representatives of the company stopped responding to messages and calls.
The promised car was never delivered to the buyer. Realizing that he was cheated, a 40-year-old resident of the region appealed for help to the police.
Law enforcement officers established the circumstances of the incident. On the fact of theft of funds, a criminal case was initiated under Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud”.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Mainsky” reminds that offers to buy cars from abroad via the Internet can be used by attackers to deceive buyers. Particular attention should be paid to ads in which the cost of the vehicle is significantly lower than the market.
Another worrying sign is the requirement for full prepayment before getting the car. Fraudsters can explain the need for additional transfers costs for delivery, customs procedures and paperwork.
Police recommend checking information about the seller, studying reviews, paying attention to the duration of the site and the presence of an existing office of the company. Before transferring a large amount, it is necessary to verify the authenticity of the documents and the legality of the transaction.
Particular caution should be exercised if money is asked to send to bank cards of individuals or anonymous cryptocurrency wallets instead of the official settlement account of the organization.
Law enforcers emphasize that remote purchase of expensive property without checking the car and proper execution of the contract is associated with serious financial risks. If there are doubts about the good faith of the seller, it is better to refuse the transaction.
