Residents of Velikie Luk and Pskov district lost more than 1.6 million rubles due to the actions of telephone fraudsters

Two residents of the Pskov region became victims of Internet and telephone fraudsters. In both cases, the police opened criminal proceedings.

In Velikie Luki, attackers misled a local resident of 2001 by phone. Under the pretext of earning additional income through investments in special applications, they convinced the girl to transfer money to unknown accounts. As a result, the victim lost more than 1.6 million rubles.

The second incident occurred in the Pskov municipal district. There unknown through the messenger offered a woman born in 1980 to buy a puppy breed poodle. Trusting the seller, she transferred the money, but never received the animal. The amount of damage amounted to 76 thousand rubles.

Both victims went to the police. Investigative authorities opened criminal cases on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 and Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Fraud”). Currently, operational-search measures are being carried out aimed at establishing the identities of the attackers.
