A resident of Novocheboksarsk was convicted for servicing the communication hub of fraudsters

The Novocheboksary city court sentenced a man who served equipment for changing phone numbers.

According to the investigation, a native of Georgia, at the suggestion of friends from abroad, established and maintained the work of an illegal communications hub. For this he received 20 thousand rubles a month.

Through equipment, his accomplices called residents of Ivanovo, Moscow and Leningrad regions, as well as Yekaterinburg. The total amount of stolen money from victims amounted to almost 5 million rubles.

The man fully admitted guilt. The case under Part 2 of Article 274.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation was considered in a special order. Taking into account a serious illness and disability, the court sentenced him to a suspended sentence and a fine of 200 thousand rubles.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Chuvashia, since the beginning of 2026, BSTM employees together with other law enforcement agencies have stopped the work of 26 illegal communication hubs. Residents of the Arkhangelsk, Orenburg and Omsk regions are also brought to criminal responsibility.
