Terrible tragedy: the current took eight students on the beach

Eight-sixteen-year-old students died while swimming at Diveagar Beach in Pune County, India

Published

Eight sixteen-year-old students have died while swimming at Diveagar Beach in Pune County, India. According to the British press, the tragedy occurred on the first of October during a trip organized by the educational institution.

A group of 42 students and six teachers from the Winners Academy in the village of Alandi arrived on the coast. During the bath, the students incorrectly assessed the depth of the bottom and the power of the current, because of which they could not independently get ashore.

Witnesses tried to resuscitate the teenagers, but without success. The dead were all 16 years old.

Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
