The index of the Moscow Exchange for the first time since June 30 rose above 2,400 points. At its peak at 23:37 GMT, the index of Mosbirzhi added 4.02%, to 2403.57 points. The Russian indicator closed trading by 3.87%, to 2401.8 points
The Russian stock market rose sharply in the evening session on Friday on the message that Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump in the process of a telephone conversation agreed on the supply of Russian diesel to world markets.
The United States withdrew from sanctions operations with Russian diesel until April 7. The Office of Foreign Assets Control of the U.S. Treasury (OFAC) issued a general license that allows operations for the sale, delivery, unloading and import of diesel fuel of Russian origin, including its import into the United States.
Vladimir Putin confirmed Russia’s readiness to supply oil and oil products to the markets of the United States and other countries. Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that Russia immediately begins to lift restrictions on the export of diesel fuel ahead of schedule and is ready to deliver diesel to the United States in October.
