The index of the Moscow Exchange jumped on reports that the US Treasury, at the direction of President Trump, will immediately issue a temporary license to supply Russian diesel fuel to the world market. At 22:01 GMT IMOEX2 added 1.93%, to 2351.45 points.
US President Donald Trump said that during “very successful negotiations” with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, they reached an agreement on the supply of Russian diesel fuel to world markets.
Russia will immediately supply more than 300,000 tons of diesel to the U.S. and world markets, another 500,000 tons during November and 1,000,000 tons immediately thereafter. In addition, depending on the state of its refineries, Russia will supply 3 million tons of diesel fuel in a short time, the American leader wrote in Truth Social.
