Yandex shares jumped after falling for days
Yandex shares rose more than 3%. Earlier in the papers of the tech giant, a few days saw sales amid news of a series of attacks on the company’s data centers

Shares of Yandex moved to growth after declining in recent days. On Tuesday, October 13, securities at the peak rose to е3482 per share, which is 3.3% higher than Monday's close. This is evidenced by the trading data of the Moscow stock exchange at 10:55 MSK.
By 11:27 GMT, growth slowed to 3%, and the price was adjusted to т3472 per share.
Over the weekend, Yandex shares fell on reports that on the night of October 11, the company’s data center in Vladimir was attacked by drones. This is the company’s third facility to be hit. Before that, on the night of October 8, after the drone attack, a fire occurred in the data center in Sasovo, Ryazan region. On October 9, drones damaged the Yandex data center in Kaluga.
As a result, failures were recorded in the work of Yandex services, some Russian sites and applications. After the strikes, Yandex began rebuilding its infrastructure and agreed with other cloud providers to accelerate the placement of its customers’ data and services.
Amid news of attacks on the infrastructure of the paper companies fell to 3255 at auction on October 12. At a minimum, the decline reached 12.7% compared to the close of trading on October 7. After that, the shares managed to recover some of the losses.
Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Information Maksut Shadayev said that the Ministry together with the Ministry of Defense jointly resolve the issue of protecting data centers after the attack of Ukraine on three data centers of Yandex.
Natalia Milchakova, a leading analyst at Freedom Global, believes that despite the serious amount of damage caused to data centers to date, the impact of their failure on the financial performance of Yandex for the third quarter and 9 months is not predicted - critical failures occurred in the fourth quarter. As for the results of the fourth quarter of 2026, it is still premature to give clear estimates, according to the expert: it remains unclear what new infrastructure difficulties Yandex will face, as well as in what time frame the Ministry of Digital Services and the Ministry of Defense will be able to implement effective measures to protect data centers in Russia from similar attacks.
At the same time, it is important to take into account that the share of Yandex Cloud, the division that suffered the most, does not exceed 2% in the total revenue of Yandex under IFRS, said Natalia Milchakova. In turn, the total contribution of the entire B2B segment (which includes Yandex Cloud) to consolidated revenue in the first half of 2026 remained at the level of no more than 4%. It is likely that the management will disclose details of the consequences of the attacks in the “Events after the reporting date” block in the reporting for the third quarter of 2026 and additionally comment on the situation during the conference call scheduled after the publication of the results.
Analysts of BCS World of Investments noted that although the situation may look critical from an emotional point of view, Yandex’s business has a serious margin of reliability and durability. This is a profitable company with high margins, and accordingly, it has enough financial resources, and if necessary, Yandex is able to rent capacity in other data centers, analysts said. In addition, the use of data centers in other countries cannot be ruled out, they stressed.
BCS World of Investments is based on the assumption that the current situation will not deteriorate. Otherwise, you will need to reassess the ability of the company to recover. Among the possible consequences for Yandex, BCS World of Investments called the rise in the cost of renting a data center and, probably, their construction due to increased demand. The company maintains a “positive” view of Yandex shares in the future for 12 months.
Yandex’s revenue for the second quarter of 2026 increased by 16% to -386 billion. In the first half of the year, the indicator amounted to 759 billion, an increase of 19% compared to the same period last year. Adjusted net profit of the IT company in the second quarter of 2026 increased by 56% year-on-year and amounted to -48 billion. IFRS financial results for the third quarter are expected to be published on October 29.
Yandex’s current forecast for 2026 suggests revenue growth of about 20% year-on-year and adjusted EBITDA near т350 billion. In the second quarter, the company forecast capital expenditures this year of 10-12% of revenue.
