Mosbirzhi index has updated the maximum since June 19
The Russian stock market is supported by expectations of a decrease in geopolitical tensions and high energy prices

The index of the Moscow Exchange (IMOEX) increased by 1.56% compared to the closing of the main session of the previous day and reached 2431.1 points. This is evidenced by the auction data at 16:05 MSK. The index last traded above this level on June 19.
The Russian market maintains positive dynamics against the background of a new round of expectations around the negotiation process in Ukraine, said Finam analyst Dmitry Lozovoy. An additional driver was the publication of The Washington Post about the preparation of the United States and Europe for a peace plan involving compromise solutions for both sides of the conflict. At the same time, there is no official confirmation of the content of the initiative.
Investors also continue to play out the improvement of the Russian-American dialogue and some signals of a possible easing of sanctions pressure. High oil prices further support the market, improving the external background for the oil and gas sector and budget. On Tuesday, Brent oil quotes are held above $105 per barrel.
In the leaders of growth among the companies in the index Mosbirzhi according to 15:55 MSK were papers:
Severstal (+6.2%); AFK Sistema (+5.8%); NLMK (+4.9%); Rostelecom (ordinary shares) (+4.4%); Yandex (+4.4%).
In the leaders of the fall:
TATNEFT (ordinary shares) (-1.87%); TATNEFT (preferred shares) (-1.82%); Surgutneftegaz (preferred shares) (-0.16%); Rosneft (-0.12%).
Yandex shares gained more than 4% after falling for several days. Sales were observed amid news of a series of attacks on the company’s data centers.
Papers of AFK "System" rise in price on news about the deal with Alfa-Bank. At its peak, the paper rose 7.05 percent to close on October 12, to 7.887. The quotations reacted to reports that Alfa-Bank acquired a minority stake in the Medsi group of companies from Sistema.
Collectively, the geopolitical factor and the strong commodity situation are increasingly forming the prerequisites for the start of a new wave of growth, said Dmitry Lozovoy. However, its sustainability will depend on the emergence of more specific negotiating signals and further rhetoric from the Bank of Russia.
PSB analysts noted a further improvement in the general market situation. They expect an increase in the index of the Moscow Exchange in the area of 2500 - 2600 points.
