Mutual deprovincialization
Over the past 20 years, Russia has not become a prominent economic player in Southeast Asia. Trade remains sluggish, mutual investments are few, joint ventures are few, and economic success stories can be counted on fingers. With the exception of certain raw materials and high-tech niches, primarily military-industrial complex, nuclear energy and space products, Russia is not yet competitive in the region, and we are only beginning to integrate into these processes.
